harp•ist
     [hahr-pist]
–noun: a person who plays the harp, especially professionally.

Kate believes that becoming a harpist begins with a strong desire to play the instrument and is attained through diligent study and exceptional training. As a teacher, Kate focuses on encouraging her student's love of the harp and developing their technique and musicality. For each student, the ultimate goal is to enable students to reach their full potential as harpists.

Kate's primary teachers are Faye Seeman and Elizabeth Wooster-Colpean. Her teaching philosophy and methods have been greatly influenced by their valuable examples. Kate has training in harp pedagogy, as well as pedagogy for special learners. Kate maintains a private studio with students of all ages. Additionally, Kate is on faculty with Northern Illinois University's Community School of the Arts.
